DESCRIPTION

Brevoxyl is indicated for the topical treatment of acne. Contains Benzoyl Peroxide 4% w/w in an High-Tech Hydrophase aqueous base. A modern aqueous cream for acne. Benzoyl peroxide breaks down and removes the dead cells on the skin surface. It also kills bacteria on the skin. The removal of cells from the top layer of skin unblocks the sebaceous glands (glands which secrete sebum), which become blocked in acne. This reduces inflamation of the gland as the sebum can then escape. Bacteria on the skin feed on sebum and produce waste products which further inflame the sebaceous glands, causing acne. Benzoyl peroxide reduces their numbers by reducing their food source (sebum) and by directly killing them. Efficacy equivalent to 10% with less irritation. Greaseless, colourless, aqueous cream. How to Use: Apply once or twice daily or as directed by your doctor. For external use only

DIRECTIONS

Wash with a suitable cleanser such as Cetaphil or Sebamed cleanser and rinse thoroughly with water before applying Brevoxyl.

If you use make-up, remove it thoroughly before applying Brevoxyl. After the cream has dried, you can use non-greasy makeup.

Apply once or twice daily, a small amount of Brevoxyl with your fingertips to all the area of your skin which has acne, not just individual spots or pimples.

Moisturise with a non comedogenic cream such as Cetaphil Moisturising Cream.

It can take a few weeks before you see the full effects of Brevoxyl on your acne You should continue treatment for at least 3 months unless your doctor or pharmacist tells you otherwise, or should side effects occur.

SIDE EFFECTS

Brevoxyl may cause a slight stinging sensation and make your skin feel warm, especially when it is first applied. You may also notice moderate redness and peeling of your skin during the first few weeks of use. These effects are normal. If they bother you, try using the product less often for a while, or stop using Brevoxyl and consult your doctor.

WARNING

Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight.

Do not use Brevoxyl if you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide or any of the ingredients contained in Brevoxyl.
